Hi! Thanks for being here! I'm Amanda Kowalski, a photographer and writer based in Los Angeles.
I LOVE STORIES...
...and have spent my career exploring the many ways to tell them. I've worked as a TV editor, social media campaign manager, public realtions account exec, travel photographer, freelance travel writer, and screenwriter. All of these positions focus on the human experience. My favortie thing.
Photography started as a passion 10 years ago. After training in Chicago and Europe, I've developed a taste for photos that put people front and center. I love capturing the messes in life - real, authentic, people-driven moments at events, in family gatherings, and in the intimate, unspoken twinkles between two, or in an individual's eyes. I've traveled to more than 65 countries seeking out these types of moments, and more.
Now, my photography is focused on maternity and pregnancy in the greater LA area.
Michigan is home for my heart, and I've lived in Spain, Hungary, Argentina, France, and New Zealand. Besides photography, I love to write, cook, get outside with my European husband, and catch the latest on HBO.
